How much space do you need?

As we have all been gigging for many years – we have come across some of the more ‘interesting’ spaces to play in. We don’t need a massive space but something along the lines of 4 x 2 metres would be the absolute minimum.

How is it best to time things?

It entirely depends upon your event and we are flexible around other things that may be going on. Here is a common example of how it could run:

7:30pm-8pm – Vinyl Beats light acoustic music
8pm-8:30pm – Vinyl Beats DJ set
8:30pm – 9pm – speeches/cut cake/first dance
9pm-10pm – Vinyl Beats first band set
10pm-11pm – Vinyl Beats DJ set
11pm-12am – Vinyl Beats second band set

It is important to plan the music around the food as some guests aren’t fond of eating with loud music on in the background.

Can I pick the bands playlist?

You are absolutely welcome to make us aware of any bands/songs that you do not want played in our sets and we will allow you to pick songs from our repertoire list but the ordering of the songs would be our responsibility as our experience will allow us to build the right set.

Where will you travel to?

Based in London, we are in a fantastic position to travel UK wide and even Internationally!

Can I see you play live?

Vinyl Beats do occasionally play public gigs, drop us a message and we will happily let you know any gigs we have coming up!

Will you learn our special song?

Of course. We are open to any song that means something to you and your special one but please try to let us know what the song is at least 3 weeks before your event.

Is the video on your website a true reflection of the band?

Our video is something that we are very proud of. Not only is it a great quality video but it also is a true representation of Vinyl Beats. We deliberately filmed it to look like we were gigging to give you a feeling of what it is like to be at our concerts. Watch our video here.

How do I book you?

There are a number of ways that you can book us:

Whichever is more convenient for you, there is no preferred method!

Are you able to DJ in between sets?

We can DJ in between our sets and whilst we pack down (if desired). If you would like music for other aspects of the evening e.g. after our band sets then we can add this in as part of a package and the probability is that this would be more economical than hiring a separate DJ!

Can we make DJ requests in advance to my event?

Yes, as long as we have the songs already. We will not purchase new songs for your event as this can be quite costly.

Can we use your sound system for speeches?

We have no problem with this. Please note that if you would like to use radio mics or other such equipment then you must hire them yourself prior to the event.

What equipment do you use?

We use only the best instruments, amplifiers, leads, drums, effects pedals and PA system. Brands include Fender, Gibson, PRS, MESA/BOOGIE, JHS audio, Behringer, Custom Audio and more! We believe that to achieve an amazing sound we must have amazing gear!

Do you have lights?

We have two LED light rigs that are easily set up and very effective at enhancing the party atmosphere.

How long do you play for?

We have three standard formats:

1. 2 x 1 hours (most popular)
2. 3 x 40 minutes
3. 2 x 45 minutes

What time do you start and finish?

Between 8pm and 9pm is usually a good time to start the party however we are totally flexible to help your event run as smoothly as possible.

How long do you take to set up?

Depending on access to the stage and parking – it takes between 1 and 1.5 hours to set up and sound check.

Can I provisionally book you?

Due to our high demand we are unable to hold dates for any clients. This being said, if we are free for your event and you want us then you should snap us up before someone else does – we hate to disappoint!

You will however be given first refusal if you make an official enquiry on our website or on our agent’s website.

What if the band split up before my event?

Vinyl Beats are all great friends and have known each other for years. They are also extremely professional and would honour your booking/s with us!

Can my sisters/bosses/daughters dog sing with your band?

Due to expensive equipment on stage we try to limit the amount of people that get up and play with us in case it ends in breakages, however it can be arranged in advance, so feel free to give us a call and ask!

What will the band wear?

For weddings we usually dress formally (see pictures) and for corporate events we usually dress in our ‘rockier’ look. If you would prefer we dress formally or informally then it is to your discretion, we are here to make you happy!

Does the band have PAT and PLI certificates?

We are PAT AND PLI certified (up to £5 million).

Why should I book Vinyl Beats?

If you are after a high energy and crowd interactive band then look no further! Our repertoire has been carefully selected to provide a party atmosphere from the word ‘go’! You should expect some fantastic tunes and also some classics that you may have forgotten about!

How much does it cost to book the band?

This varies depending on the area that we have to travel to, set length and any additional extras! It doesn’t cost anything to enquire and using Alive Network’s fantastic interactive website, you can obtained even the most detailed of quotes (including arrival times etc)!

Do Vinyl Beats have any specific requirements?

We ask that there be somewhere for us to get changed (no toilets) – a safe and secure/lockable room. Soft drinks all night and a meal is standard for most function bands.

What type/size venues are you able to play at?

We are able to play at any venue. From small, intimate private parties to big corporate events!

How loud will the band be?

We will be loud enough so that the guests can converse if they would like to but also as they get closer to the band they will feel as though they are at the best gig they’ve ever been to! If your chosen venue has a dB limiter then you should confirm this with the Alive Network team. If the limited is extremely low then we can still provide a high energy full band acoustic set!

What is the band power requirement?

2 double sockets running at 13 amps will be sufficient for us to set up. If the event is in a venue where a separate generator is required e.g. a marquee, then please make sure the generator has a high enough capacity to include the band.

Do Vinyl Beats offer any additional services?

Vinyl Beats have many additional services ranging from extended playing times, acoustic sets, bigger band options, bespoke DJ services and first dance songs! If the option that you desire is not on our website then simply speak to our Alive Network agents to see if we can fulfil your brief!
